Frequently Asked Questions

What treatments are being investigated for ALS?

+

Current ALS studies are exploring various approaches including gene therapies, neuroprotective agents, stem cell treatments, and drugs targeting specific disease mechanisms. These investigational treatments aim to slow disease progression and improve quality of life.

Can I continue taking Riluzole or Edaravone?

+

Most studies allow participants to continue FDA-approved ALS treatments like Riluzole or Edaravone. The study team will review your current medications during the screening process.

What support is provided for travel to study visits?

+

Many ALS studies offer travel assistance, including reimbursement for mileage, parking, and accommodations if needed. Some studies also provide home nursing visits to reduce the burden of travel.
