  • Age 18-65 years
  • Diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
  • Current depressive episode of at least 4 weeks duration
  • MADRS or HAM-D score meeting study threshold
  • Inadequate response to at least one prior antidepressant
  • Stable living situation and reliable transportation

Who May Not Qualify

  • Current suicidal ideation with intent or plan
  • Bipolar disorder or psychotic features
  • Substance use disorder within past 6 months
  • Unstable medical conditions
  • Current electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)
