Frequently Asked Questions
What endometriosis treatments are being studied?
+
Studies include new oral GnRH antagonists, non-hormonal treatments targeting inflammation and pain, and novel approaches that may preserve fertility. Both daily oral and long-acting treatments are being evaluated.
Do I need prior surgical diagnosis?
+
Most studies require surgical (laparoscopic) confirmation of endometriosis. Some studies may accept imaging-confirmed deep infiltrating endometriosis.
How is pain measured during the study?
+
You will complete daily or weekly diaries rating pelvic pain, dysmenorrhea, and non-menstrual pain. Studies also assess impact on daily activities and quality of life.
Can I participate if I want to preserve fertility?
+
Yes, many studies evaluate treatments specifically designed to manage symptoms while preserving fertility. Non-hormonal approaches may be particularly relevant for women planning future pregnancy.
