Frequently Asked Questions

What epilepsy treatments are being studied?

+

Studies are evaluating new anti-seizure medications with novel mechanisms, treatments for specific epilepsy syndromes, and adjunctive therapies for drug-resistant epilepsy.

How do I track seizures during the study?

+

You will maintain a daily seizure diary (usually electronic) recording seizure type, time, duration, and any triggers. Accurate diary completion is critical for measuring treatment response.

Can I continue my current seizure medications?

+

Yes, most studies are "add-on" trials where the study drug is added to your current regimen. Keeping your baseline medications stable helps assess whether the new treatment provides additional benefit.

What if my seizures worsen during the study?

+

Your safety is prioritized. If seizures significantly worsen, the study team can adjust treatment or withdraw you from the study to ensure appropriate medical care.
